시험관 내(In vitro)

Cidofovir는 배양된 세포에서 인간 거대세포바이러스(HCMV) 감염을 억제합니다. 이 화합물은 감염 48시간 후 세포에 첨가되었을 때에도 CMV 플라크 형성을 억제하며, Davis 균주에 대해 0.9 μg/mL, AD-169 균주에 대해 1.6 μg/mL의 IC50을 보였습니다. 또한 헤르페스 심플렉스 바이러스 감염도 억제합니다. 뿐만 아니라, 이 화학물질은 원숭이 신장 세포에서 HSV-1에 의해 유도된 세포 융합을 차단하고 HSV-1 특이 단백질의 발현과 바이러스 DNA 합성을 차단합니다.
