시험관 내(In vitro) Telmisartan은 중등도 효능(EC50=4.5 μM)의 선택적 PPARγ 부분 효능제로 작용하여, 완전 효능제인 pioglitazone과 rosiglitazone이 달성하는 최대 수준의 25%~30%까지 수용체를 활성화합니다. 이 화합물은 3T3-L1 세포의 지방세포 분화를 유도합니다. 생쥐 근육 근관에서 ACC2 발현을 60%~70% 감소시킵니다. 이 화학물질은 다른 ARB인 candesartan과는 달리, 용량 의존적으로 RAGE mRNA 수준을 하향 조절합니다.
